Als erster zeitgenössischer Künstler bespielt Oliver Hangl das Original Welser Kaiserpanorama (erbaut 1903) mit einer neuen Serie von stereoskopischen Fotos. Der Künstler verfolgt einen filmischen Ansatz, wenn er die offene Narration, die sich um die gleichnamige, transparente Hauptfigur entfaltet, mit verschiedenen Soundtracks kombiniert, deren Liedtexte wiederum als Skript fungieren könnten. Weder Handlung noch Figur werden jedoch festgelegt, Bild und Ton dienen dem Betrachter als offene Projektionsfläche.

Being the first contemporary artist invited to produce a new work for the "Original Welser Kaiserpanorma" (built in 1903), Oliver Hangl is showing an installation consisting of a new series of stereoscopic photographs combined with a selection of soundtracks. The artist offers us a window into the world of a young man, who appears to be transparent when pictured. But neither character nor the story are clearly defined by Hangl, who instead encourages an individual, more cinematic perception by proposing a range of "possible soundtracks", whose lyrics may as well function as a script. With this open narrative, Hangl provides a fragile approach towards the construction and readability of fiction, in which the position of the viewer is made central. After all, "Picture This!" is an open field of projection.
